what i am currently doing

May 24 bioGreetings, i am Lord Eduard Theobolt, an Alchemist and sellsword from Salzburg, Austria, around 1210 AD. I first found the SCA when i was attending Undergraduate school, and have been hooked ever since. The people of the Shire of Darkstone (Aka Ashland, WI) in the northeastern part of Northshield, kindly took me under their wing and showed me the ropes. I proudly consider Darkstone my home shire. Currently, i have moved on in the mundane world by earning a masters degree in meteorology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and got a job as a meteorologist at the national weather service office in Juneau, AK. I am currently playing with the Shire of Earngyld (Juneau, AK) in the principality of Oertha. Which is part of the kingdom of the West. I am also a part of the Brotherhood of the Crimson Cup, a privateer household in the western reaches of Northshield. currently serving as the ex-checker for the shire of Earngyld and in the process of becoming a rapier marshel in the principality. Other groups that i have been a part of was the Barony of Storvic in the Kingdom of Atlantia (College Park, Maryland) when i had a summer internship there, the Shire of Schattentor (Rapid City, SD) and the Shire of Noiregard (Spearfish, SD) during graduate school. Eduard Theobolt was raised just outside of Salzburg, Austria, and apprenticed to a blacksmith when he became old enough. he found out about alchemy from a traveling curiosities show and taught himself the craft. the apprenticeship didn't last that long after that as he began experimenting with various substances that he found around the forge or that he bought himself. some of those experiments had explosive results, and he was kicked out when one of said experiments resulted in destroying half the forge. for the next few years he wandered around the countryside making up various concoctions and selling some as cure-alls and others as poisons or weapons. He also became very skilled in the art of turning various metals into gold *cough..deception..cough*, and gained a rather good reputation from some of the lower nobility (aka. the ones who didn't see through the lies). news of his concoctions and skills reached the ears of a rather shady group of mercenaries, thieves, and cutthroats who offered membership and protection in return for access to the various nasty poisons, explosive concoctions, and his methods of deception that he could think up. He accepted there offer and can now be found in and around Austria and southern Germany fighting along side them or cooking up the various concoctions for them from his home near Salzburg. It is heard that he is still making gold for some of the local nobles. my mundane blog site can be found here. |
